CLEVELAND, OHIO – The groundbreaking documentary film “DO NO HARM,” exposing the hidden epidemic of physician suicide and burnout at medical schools and hospitals makes its world premiere at the 43rd Cleveland International Film Festival April 4th-6th 2019. According to Medscape, doctors have the highest rate of suicide among all professions and more than 50% of physicians in many specialties report feeling depressed or burnout yet it’s often covered up because of the stigma of mental health and the inability of physicians to seek help in fear of jeopardizing their careers. Produced and directed by two-time Emmy winner and former PBS producer Robyn Symon, the film pulls back the curtain on the systemic challenges in today’s “assembly-line” practice of medical care and the consequences of high rates of depression, sleep deprivation, drug use and burnout on the quality of patient care and medical errors. The film premieres Thursday, April 4th at 7:25PM at the Tower City Cinemas with additional screenings on April 5th at 11:45AM and April 6th at 1:45PM. Purchase festival tickets at www.clevelandfilm.org/films/2019/do-no-harm or in-person at the box office located in the lobby of Tower City Cinemas.
