Le Femme Mystique Burlesque is celebrating their fifteen anniversary on March 29th At Beachland Ballroom and Tavern with an enormous burlesque revue and some exciting news, with time comes change and Le Femme Mystique is now transition to a it’s new name Cleveland Burlesque a company name that is better suited for the growth the burlesque, drag and vaudeville pioneer. The company still continues to focus on diversity and inclusivity in the world of entertainment by presenting shows that can be enjoyed by the new burlesque fan to the experienced seasoned show attendee.
The celebration includes the introduction and official announcement of the book “Rustbelt Burlesque – The softer side of a heavy metal town” book release by Ohio University Press (Shallow Press Publishing) Rust Belt Burlesque traces the history of burlesque in Cleveland from the mid-1800s to the present day, while also telling the story of Bella Sin, a Mexican immigrant who largely drove Northeast Ohio’s neo-burlesque comeback. The historical center of Cleveland burlesque was the iconic Roxy Theater on East Ninth Street. Here, in its twentieth-century heyday, famed
dancers like Blaze Starr and comics like Red Skelton and Abbott and Costello entertained both regulars and celebrity guests that could include the likes of Joe DiMaggio. If that’s not all the event will have the honor of hosting the reigning King of Boylesque – Ickymuffin from Austin and The reigning queen of burlesque Inga from Seattle they will be making their Ohio debut alongside Cleveland Burlesque Queen & Company founder Bella Sin, local starlets that got their start with the burlesque pioneer along with national stars.
The evening will begin with a VIP/Reserve only special short cocktail reception from 7:30pm to 8:00pm when the doors for General admission open with the show slanted to start promptly at 8:30pm.
